NYC is dealing with budget cuts and a migrant crisis that the mayor says is a "financial tsunami," and yet, the council is focused on removing statues and creating a reparations task force? Sounds like skewed priorities to me. George Washington, Stuyvesant, and Columbus are part of American history, flaws and all. Taking down their statues won't change that history, but it sure will cost money the city doesn't seem to have right now. Instead of revising history, maybe NYC should focus on solving its current issues. If you've got a leaking roof, you don't start by redecorating the living room.
