Middle Township: Prices cannot be the same between cash and credit because merchants pay a fee to accept the card. Why should people who pay in cash subsidize this fee charged to merchants? They shouldn’t, hence the price disparity. You will see more of this as people continue to run out of money. Some businesses were absorbing this fee in the past but can no longer afford to do so as business margins slip.
