It seems that equity has once again taken precedence over common sense, this time tragically in Hawaii. I always make it a point never to argue about equitable distribution of water rights when a fire is raging, I just wish Hawaii had done the same. Just a terrible tragedy on so many levels, and the governmental failures that contributed to it seem to be stacking up. Hopefully the actual policies that contributed to this will be changed, but I’m fairly certain they’re looking for a scapegoat they can pin it on. It’s the liberal solution to everything: Blame others for failures that are theirs.
