From what I’ve been reading, it seems like ex-cons are being released and told to settle in Rio Grande (due to the social service offices and charities here) and that state officials have not responded to our local pols pleas for help with the homeless boom in our town. I suggest we take a page from Gov Abbot’s book. This may seem cruel to some but we shouldn’t, and frankly can’t shoulder this burden. The governor needs a plan, and apparently we need to force him to act.
