The county commissioners insist the Crest Haven Nursing Home acts with an annual deficit. Little do they know what really happens. Agency nursing staff is utilized quite a bit because there are limited county employee staff members in the nursing department specifically. Maybe they should ask themselves why? Yes our benefits are great but the employees do also pay into them. Pay rates are the lowest in the county and nursing field and it’s a 2 month hiring process. Maybe they should have participated in changing this process sooner rather than leaving staff out on the street!
