Re: spouter about translators in schools. As a teacher, I find it very disturbing that many of the students coming into our country (hopefully legally) don't speak English. Having a translator adds an extra burden on the tax payers and also the teacher. Since supposedly, everyone here speaks the same language, unlike in Europe, where there are many, why should I have to speak more than one?
Moderator's Note: You do not sound like most teachers I know who are more interested in helping new students find their way in a strange country than in declaring your right to speak only one language. Help them learn. Don't be a stumbling block.
