There are 2 different types of energy, latent and kinetic. Latent you can store because it is potential energy, like a piece of coal, wood or a can of gas. Kinetic is power on the fly, like wind, solar or hydroelectric. If kinetic supplements latent, that’s a good thing, but trying to replace latent with kinetic, without advanced storage capability to go along with it is stupid. The people that are doing this never asked themselves: What do we do if a volcanic eruption obscures the sun for weeks? What if we enter prolonged drought? Doldrums? Back up data but not our power supply? C’mon man!
