Commissioner of Public Safety Schiff was incredulous how the prior administration was able to keep tax increases either low or non-existent. He is currently proposing to cease hiring Class II officers at $15/hr for the summer influx and instead hire 5 full-time year-round officers, costing taxpayers MILLIONS in extra salary and benefits over the course of their careers. Comm Schiff...the prior admin didnt make boneheaded suggestions like THAT! That is how they kept taxes low. By the way...3 drug dogs?? For WWC?? How many drug arrests per year?? And right after we voted to legalize weed?
