In response to the Firefly comment: YES! We are losing this amazing little insect. The main reasons are depletion of habitat (new construction along coastal areas), pesticides, and light pollution. Friends, let’s leave our leaves alone and shut off those stadium grade security lights for a spell…maybe we’ll again see that nostalgic light show from our childhoods.
