To the responder who asked: “How does one consume without paying taxes?” Good question. One way is that groceries purchased for preparation off-site are not taxed, so, you can consume (literally) without taxation. If you were implying “sales tax” as part of consumption; true, but the original Spouter stated: “We are now called taxpayers and consumers by the politicians and the media” implied meaning that politicians, or the media, call people “taxpayers”, are referring to "income tax". But then again, politicians don’t even recognize “payroll” taxes deducted as income tax :-)
