Thank you to the speaker at the 4/12 Council meeting who asked for transparency regarding Avalon’s grant award from Orsted’s Ocean Wind Pro-NJ Grantor Trust. This was specifically applied for by Avalon and was announced by Orsted at the end of 2022, yet no mention by Council. It is not just a wish list item in the 2023 Budget as some on the Council suggested. Residents have a right to know the details of the grant and who approved it before being asked to vote for these same people as the new Team Avalon in May. And it shouldn’t take a FOIA request in order to find out.
