Trump gets indicted. Republicans have yet another opportunity to distance themselves from him. They have another opportunity to defend the justice system and the rule of law; they can show themselves to be the self-described ‘law and order party’ that preaches personal responsibility. But instead, before the indictments are even unsealed, republicans rush in to defend Trump.
