To the Spouter from Wildwood who argued against the need to: “collect more taxes from those individuals that already pay 75% of all income taxes”, (BTW the top 1% pays 42% (2022), not 75%), I partly agree, but you are talking about individuals, not corporations. Corporations hold $30.31 Trillion of the Nation’s wealth (2023), while the top 1% of individuals hold $23 Trillion (2022). Perhaps if Corporations paid their fair share, on a par with what the 1% pays, then everyone’s individual taxes would go down? I also agree the government spends too much in discretionary "pork".
