The rules for lifetime health benefits are crystal clear and begin with 25 years of continuous unbroken service. If the commissioner is granted benefits a litany of past employees with less than 25 years of service will expect them as well. I’ll be keeping a close eye on this matter as this could cost the borough. This is NOT a precedent that should be set.
