Of course towns in NJ are having problems hiring police officers. All the smart officers are moving to red states where they will be allowed to actually enforce the law. They don’t want to be paid for doing nothing to improve their communities, as some here settle for. If they don’t want to enforce the law here, and take their marching orders from Trenton instead of the communities they serve, then why do we need them? We pay premium money and benefits to people who seem to lack the will and desire to do their job, and refuse to stand up to politicians that hinder rather than advance society.
