All of the leverage and bargaining power with these offshore wind projects is in favor of the foreign companies constructing the projects who are poised to make a lot of money. A reasonable compromise would be to force Orsted to build the turbines further offshore. This is a fair solution that would appease the concerns about degrading the views from our coast. Orsted wants to pursue its cheapest option without consideration for the residents of Cape May County. Even supporters of renewable energy should agree with scrutinizing the intentions of a foreign company freely imposing its will.
