Only the residents who lived here in the early 70s would remember all the small commercial boats that used to moor at the area that used to be called Alfred's Landing. The name supposedly came from the area where Al Alfred traveled from what is now middle township, across the salt marsh flats and got stuck in his boat to what is now West Wildwood. That area is now been redeveloped and has several homes and a small portion of Alfred Park. There were a few clammers some commercial crabbers and some squid boats. They are all gone now.
