Moderator: I’m going to respectfully disagree with your assessment that Samuel Clemens, AKA Mark twain was “ maybe” a statesman, as the definition of statesman is: a skilled political leader or figure. My emphasis on figure. As I’m sure you know, he was actively involved in the presidential campaigns of Hayes in 1876, Garfield in 1880,and Cleveland in 1884. Since he was actively involved in these races he is considered a political figure. While I’m technically correct, which everyone knows it’s the best kind of correct, I take no pleasure in this, I just want people to know I do my research

Moderator's Note: Statesman or not,I love Mark Twain and I will concede your superior knowledge.
