What the freeholders have been doing with open space funds is wrong. Open Space funds were meant strictly to acquire and preserve land, to protect it from development. Every dollar of open space funds that went towards bike paths, piers, sports fields was wrong. Open Space funds should be used only to buy and preserve open space while it is still open space left to preserve. Preventing the remaining woods and fields from becoming housing developments has to be the top priority.
