Another police officer in NYC shot dead by the classic life long criminal out on bail. Prisons were originally established to isolate and remove individuals who were a menace and threat to society. Asylums were established to house and try to treat the mentally incompetent.Our cities have become open air prisons and asylums. It’s time , long overdue, to populate the prisons and reestablish the use of asylums to remove the unfortunates , who no fault of their own, cannot function in a civilized society. The definition of insanity, doing the same and expecting a different outcome.
