In line with The Herald’s reporting on police salaries, perhaps you could find out why Lower Township officers receive payments of thousands of dollars in addition to their salaries. For example, on 7/1/19 payments in the amounts of $21,239.26 and $20,117.40 were authorized to two officers, on 6/1/20 a payment was authorized for $8241.86 and the same officer received $8956.26 on 7/1/21, both marked as payment for the exact same number of “hours”, 275. There are other payments approved with little explanation. Why?
