We can safely ignore the rantings of global warming skeptics/deniers. They are irrelevant. Those in positions of authority and influence - climate scientists, nations' leaders - are fully aware that: (1) global warming is real; (2) unlike warming events eons ago, today there are billions of people on the planet whose activities, principally the extraction and burning of fossil fuels, are the main cause of climate change; (3) many of those billions are already suffering the damage caused by global warming. What sort of planet do we want our children and grandchildren to inherit?
