The millions of dollars of open space funds wasted on the bike path, athletic fields, piers, etc. could have preserved hundreds or thousands of acres instead. There are still so many pieces of land that need to be preserved. The county has actually rejected landowners that tried to preserve their land. The County needs to reach out to those landowners again and offer to preserve their land. Open spaces funds need to be spent only on open space!
