In response to Tony Monzo’s op-ed in the Herald regarding CRT:I can not believe we are still having this conversation. Is there even any dispute that America is a racist country. Of course it is! For the first 200 years of our existence, black people were enslaved, and we were openly committing a genocide against native americans. Do we think this doesn’t have an effect on current affairs? Do we think history is this benign force that’s already ended? Or could it be that our past affects our present, and racism didn’t just magically end with the stroke of a pen 50 years ago? Come on, guys.
