The nuns want to demolish St. Mary’s to “care for Earth,” but demolition is one of the worst things you can do for the environment. It creates debris and toxic dust, wastes renewable resources, and fills landfills with tons and tons of waste, much of which could have been reused. Preservation is the answer. Please let an already standing building ,fulfill a demand. The greenest building is one that’s already built. That doesn’t count if it’s been demolished.
