I am confused. Before the pandemic, lots of low income people were paying their rent. They got laid off and collected unemployment plus. In fact, they made so much more, they don’t want to go back to work for less money. But at the same time, they have not been paying rent, and they can’t get evicted. How could they pay rent before, but not now? How about the landlord who rents half of a twin house to make enough money to live in the other half? It sure looks like a breakdown in morality and fairness to me.
