I’ll probably get a lot of flack for this from the pc police, but I think the US ought to offer English classes to immigrants. A country can’t survive if the citizens can’t communicate. It is also an economic disadvantage by limiting the market for both jobs and products. And right or wrong, it is an irritant to some natural born Americans. We did it before, in the 1940s and the 1970s.
