Stone Harbor

Thanks to Governor Murphy's liberal stand on the elimination of certain police powers, our law enforcement officers in Avalon and Stone Harbor can only issue warnings to minors for ordinance and disorderly offenses even if marijuana or alcohol are present. So if a minor is in possession of drugs or alcohol, police can do nothing but issue a warning and that minor does not have to give his or her name. They are closing the beach and boardwalk early because crime is on the rise and the police have no powers to fight it or enforce effective laws and ordinances that have kept the island safe.
