The lack of compassion of so many people who comment on this site is astounding to me. They see people who are not like them as either a threat or inherently inferior. It's this condescending, ‘not my problem if it's not in my backyard’ attitude that seems so selfish and short-sighted to me. How would they like the job of telling kids whose parents made bad choices or who were born in the wrong country, that they don't get to eat today?
