The Avalon Mayor and Council submitted their budget for the year. They continue to claim no tax increases the reality is the base value for avalon houses has increased nearly 5% each year for the past several years .In other words due to the housing new construction the taxes collected each year have increased the tax revenues 5% each year thus the budget has continued to increase at twice the rate of inflation. Can we focus on possible tax decreases next year and an open on line budget hearings next year? Did we save money from cancellation of fire works and other entertainment ?
