On Sunday night 19 July, a Navy vet and Naval Academy graduate went to witness the demonstrations in Portland. Wearing his Navy sweatshirt, he approached with hands raised and asked federal officers in Portland to remember their Constitution defense oaths. The response - they broke his hand, beat him with batons and pepper sprayed/gassed him. Maybe a good discussion for the VFW daily outside club gathering on JFK Blvd. Maybe a good letter to his constituents from Congressman Van Drew.
