Avalon

Quaker Oats is changing the name of it’s ever popular pancake mix and syrup because it is based on a racial stereotype. I concur that it does cite a stereotypical personage. I also submit that the fighting leprechaun of Notre Dame similarly evokes an stereotypical image, as does even the ubiquitous Colonel who sells fried chicken. We are all likely to be stereotyped in some ways, but not all are meant to hurt . Something, somewhere, somehow offends someone. Ban the mean and nasty, but stop to smile. We sometimes are feisty leprechauns.
