I worked in the Unemployment Office for several years in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. When a person files for unemployment, the state has to verify everything with the applicant’s past employers. If the employers do not respond in a timely manner, this delays the process. I am submitting this info as another possible factor as to why some are not getting a fast reply from the state.
