I am shocked and saddened at the misplaced acrimony directed at second homeowners in recent days. Until recently, I considered myself a proud part of a larger, extended Wildwood community. We are not wealthy, self-centered "shoobies" who only come down during a crisis to spread disease and suck up your limited resources. The real tragedy of COVID-19 are the many histrionic, ignorant, and insulting outbursts directed at second homeowners. When this crisis ends (and it will), be mindful of the damage your comments have permanently done within the extended Wildwood community. We won't.
