A new pastor at St. Brendan and he immediately wants to change things that have worked well for at least the 20 years I have been spending summers in Avalon. We have been so blessed to have a mass schedule that met everyone's needs and encouraged vacationers to go to mass even on their vacations, a rare phenomenon in today's world. I hear he wants to combine masses, creating overcrowding and is asking priests to have longer sermons and longer masses, not what the people I talk to want.
