The difference between banning or confiscating all guns, on the one hand, and keeping guns out of the hands of the "bad guys," on the other hand, is obvious and easily understood. Universal background checks and a ban on automatic and semi-automatic weapons are indisputably not the same as a total gun ban. Yet some are unable to grasp the clear distinction, the spouter, eg., who fears that 200,000 women will have their guns taken from them. Of course, the NRA dishonestly and unethically promotes the notion of gun confiscation to scare the gullible and fearful and to encourage gun sales.
