All firearms owners should be responsible, and keep them out of the hands of children. However, the statistics spouted by someone from Cape May are ridiculous, "Statistically one in four toddlers will accidentally shoot themselves or someone else this year with a legally-owned firearm in their household, all because their parents are still afraid of the boogeyman." There are 24.1 million children under 5 in the U.S. today, 1 in 4 (25%) is 6 million. Only 2.2 million children under the age of 5 die in the U.S. annually. There are less than 1,000 accidental discharge deaths a year of all ages.
