Wildwood Crest

In the March 30 Herald, Al Campbell writes of "free" training for front line workers. First, it came from a taxpayer-funded grant. It's not free. Next, it took two government Econ. Dev. agencies to funnel money through ACCC and CMC Chamber of Commerce (whose members benefited the most) to tell a few workers in stores and restaurants to be friendly to customers. Bureaucracy and waste. Why can't employers pay for and be responsible for training their own workers? Better compensation attracts better workers and your business will fare better than the competition. Why are taxes so high in NJ?

Moderator's Note: Give them a little slack. A friendlier community will be more pleasant for residents and tourists alike and raise tax revenue, hopefully.
