Spout Off is an interesting feature. It gives folks a forum to express their opinion (right or wrong, smart or stupid). It gives them a chance to vent frustrations (with neighbors, government or life itself), and it gives a fair sampling of the social and political scene in Cape May County. The one thing it clearly does not seem to do is reach local politicians. Over the years, some significant topics have arisen in Spout Off, and the lack of follow-up by local government is surprising. While some "spouters" may be nut jobs or malcontents, most seem to be ordinary, every day voters.
