Blanket political correctness is just another way of controlling people's freedom. With a melting pot such as ours wouldn't it make sense to give more power to the states so that people can move to a state that suits them? For example, raising the minimum wage isn't necessary in areas where the cost of living is low. Same with guns. There are some areas where guns are a part of daily living. The federal government has enough to do with global affairs such as national security and a healthy economy. Trying to make everybody happy is impractical.
