One member of city council told the shade tree commission to "back off" when questioned about the tree removal at the rotary park project. The city cut down century year old trees, and also have pavers within five feet of the remaining tree's roots that are 100 percent certain to die within a few years. This member of council told the shade tree commission that the city is exempt from following rules and that they can do whatever they want. Is it even a question of which council member is ruling with the iron fist?
