Dennis Township obviously has a very humane and inspiring animal control officer (Steve Serwatka) who rescues and shelters 150 animals at his non-profit reserve called New Jersey Nature. The news reports that DT is in talks to open an animal shelter headed by Serwatka. If Dennis Township is serious about animal welfare, why do officials continue to do nothing to upgrade ordinances and establish a citizen animal welfare advisory committee? Why does DT continue to reject progressive reform advocated by animal welfare groups everywhere?
