When speaking of sharks Mayor Vaughn of Amity stated "Amity is a summer town, we need summer dollars..." This mind set is all too familiar and parallels Mayor Mahaney's view of beach safety in Cape May. It also explains his resentment toward those who have made the issue a public one.
