The North Wildwood reassessment is a farce. The only reason this was requested by the county is because of the disparity that still exists from the 2007 (over) reassessment debacle and not reduced enough yet. The real estate market is very slow with many properties still "For Sale." Let's face it, NW is a resort town and not many people are buying a vacation home at the shore for more than $400,000. How come the city doesn't ask the current property sellers why their homes cannot sell for their current assessed value for a start? Lower the assessment and watch the values fall back in line.
