Beaches will still exist if the NJ Legislature and Congress finally worked up the courage to stop beach replenishment. Taxpayers shouldn't have to repeatedly pay to pump sand back onto the beaches every time it washes away simply because barrier island residents don't want to move. Stop beach replenishment and just let nature takes its course. If some homes get destroyed, so be it and let the homeowners rebuild at their own expense. Terminate the federal flood insurance program too. Rather than pumping sand on the beach, how about people just move back from the beach?
