North Cape May

We were at the airport recently, and it was striking to see people mesmerized with their handheld devices. It used to be an airport sitting room was a great way to meet people and to converse with them on where they were from, etc. Essentially a human to human conversation. Now the heads are down and the room is silent. Is this what today's world is about; life in a glass box where we have to be "connected" constantly? Or are they disconnected in a world that human contact and interaction no longer matters?
