The rush to ruin the look of Avalon with the new, galvanized utility poles did not do what ACE and town officials said it would do. Contrary to the spouter who wrote Jan. 20, "end result would help tremendously with storm power outages," power went out two times in the same amount of weeks. Residents should have been given an opportunity to review an underground alternative. Town officials and planning board should do the right thing and get these poles changed out.
