A Court House spouter who remarked on "war profiteering" may not truly understand the concept. The so-called "military-industrial complex" that was suspected of wanting to heat up the Cold War; that never happened because it really does not exist. There are always companies that will profit from the U.S.' huge defense spending. However, for years, the Soviet economy was able to produce relatively good quality weapons in a non-capitalistic environment. Profiteering really occurs after a war has already started, and someone takes advantage by selling war goods at inflated prices.
