Newspapers and other media need to do more to educate shoppers about their power to compel merchants to offer cheaper, good quality products. Of course, prices are high because people buy and buy, seemingly without regard to exorbitant prices that keep going higher. By our refusal to buy at any price, grocery chains will be forced to lower prices. Whoever does the shopping for the household should also be held accountable for what they spend.
