The Texas teen involved in that unfortunate DWI is being vilified for using his family's wealth as a contributing factor in his legal defense. As a counselor, I feel there likely is a real basis for such a claim, in that he was brought up as a child of privilege, whose every wish and whim was available. So,he feels he should not be punished for doing something he cannot understand or control, and the juvenile court judge correctly gave him probation.
